Arundhati Devi was one of the finest Bengali actors, film directors and writers. In 1967, she was honoured with the National Film Award for ‘Best Film Based on High Literary Work’ for the 1967 Bengali hit ‘Chhuti’. Arundhati made her cinematic debut in ‘Mahaprasthaner Pathey’ (1952) which was later remade in Hindi titled ‘Yatrik’.
