Evgeniy Samoylov
Yevgeny Samoylov (16 April 1912 – 17 February 2006) was a celebrated Soviet and Russian stage and screen actor known for his heroic and charismatic performances from the 1930s through the 1990s. Born in Saint Petersburg, he trained in theatre and was invited to Moscow by Vsevolod Meyerhold, launching a distinguished stage career before becoming a prominent film star.
