Charlot emigrante
Charlot es un inmigrante que llega a los Estados Unidos en barco desde Europa. Acusado falsamente del robo a una chica, termina trabando amistad con ella, ya que en realidad quería ayudarla dejándole dinero en el bolsillo. En la segunda parte de la película, Charlot deberá hacer frente a un irascible camarero capaz de dar miedo con su simple presencia.
